Resumption of Limited Services for 50 Persons from 17-18 Jul 2021

23 Jun 2021

Dear Church,

We pray that you have all been well in body and soul, particularly in this season of spending time in silence and solitude with God.

We would like to update you on our plans to gradually resume services in Phase 3 (Heightened Alert). Starting from the weekend of 17-18 Jul:

English Services Chinese Service
Saturday 2pm, 5pm
(Online & On-site)
Sunday 10am, 1pm
(Online only)
(Online & On-site)

The on-site services stated above will be held at Suntec Hall 606. Each on-site service will be open to only 50 churchgoers; entrance will be by e-tickets issued via zone allocation. There will be no HarvestKidz support for the time being.

We will be keeping to a service size of 50 for the time being, as any religious service with a gathering of more than 50 persons will require Pre-Event Testing (PET), according to the latest guidelines for religious organisations in Phase 3 (Heightened Alert). We arrived at this decision after much deliberation with the Pastoral Team. Given that the government has projected that by this August, 50% of Singapore residents will be vaccinated, and by October, 75%, we hope that our resumption of limited services with 50 persons will kickstart our journey back on-site in a safe and sustainable manner, without requiring our members and ministry volunteers to undergo PET each time they attend or serve. As the situation improves and more of us are fully vaccinated, we will progress to a larger on-site congregation size.

Again, please note that English services on Sunday 10am and 1pm will remain online only till further notice.

Hebrews 10:23 says, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” Church, we recognise that these are challenging times, but we must not lose heart or lose sight of His faithfulness towards us. Let’s look forward to the upcoming opportunities we will have to come together on-site, while continuing to be thankful to the Lord for the capability to worship together online.

Most of all, as Pastor Kong has been teaching us in his sermon series on the “Kingdom of God”, let’s be intentional to develop our intimacy with God in the “lonely places” of our daily devotion—to experience a glimpse of all He has in store for us in eternity, even in our present reality!

In Christ,

The CHC Management Team
