CHC in Phase 2: Heightened Alert

14 May 2021

Dear Church,

Thank you for being patient and staying connected during these three weeks of online-only services. We trust you have been keeping safe in light of the recent increase in community cases, and we pray that our weekly service broadcasts have served to build up faith in your hearts.

We would like to update you regarding our member who tested positive for COVID on 28 April 2021. Following her test, 64 of our church members and their family members were contacted by the Ministry of Health and placed under quarantine. We are so grateful to the Lord that all of them have tested negative for COVID, and have completed serving their quarantine orders as of 11 May. The member who tested positive has also made a full recovery. Praise the Lord! Thank you for your consistent prayers over this situation.

As you would have read today, Singapore’s Multi-Ministry Taskforce (MTF) is tightening measures further through the implementation of “Phase 2 (Heightened Alert)”, which will take effect from May 16 through June 13. Under these new guidelines, MCCY has indicated that religious organisations may continue to hold on-site services with a lower cap of 50 attendees at any one time. However, having considered the prevailing climate of vigilance in Singapore and the safety of our congregation, we have decided that all CHC services and cell groups will remain exclusively online until 13 June 2021. There will be no on-site services and events for the time being.

Church, while the measures taken nationally and within our church may feel like we’re going back a few steps in this fight against COVID-19, let’s take heart in the knowledge that they are temporary and absolutely necessary to ringfence this new spate of cases. The wellbeing of all our members and families must be our paramount priority at this time.

Thankfully, the Lord has already prepared us for this situation when we brought our services online two weekends ago. So, let’s continue to be fully surrendered to the Holy Spirit as a church, and not grow weary of coming together online to pray, worship and encourage one another.

Thank you again for your patience and let’s keep praying for this situation to abate soonest.

In Christ,

The CHC Management Team
