CHC in Phase 1 of Post-Circuit Breaker Measures

Jun 2, 2020

Dear City Harvest,

Thank you for standing strong as a family over the past few months. We are glad that the Circuit Breaker is officially over and we are now in Phase 1 of our nation’s post-Circuit Breaker measures. Praise the Lord!

As we embark on this first phase of a three-phased approach, according to MCCY’s guidelines: “In-person congregational worship services, religious classes and cell group meetings also remain suspended in Phase One”.

The Singapore Government has also set out stringent guidelines to allow for some religious activities to resume. You may have read that Private Worship is allowed for up to 5 members of the same household in a place of worship; and up to 5 households at any one time. However, the scope of Private Worship is limited to personal prayers done by members within the same household and singing is strongly discouraged. With these restrictions in mind, we have concluded that it would be most prudent for all of us to stay home and stay safe at this point of time.

As such, our church premises at the Suntec Convention and our Jurong West church building will remain closed.

How will CHC function in Phase 1?

  1. Weekend services and Wednesday Churchwide Bible Study sessions with Pastor Kong will continue to be streamed online via the CHC website, The CHC App, Facebook and YouTube.
  2. Cell group meetings and weekend Bible study classes will continue to be conducted virtually via various online platforms, such as ZOOM, Google Hangout, etc.
  3. Weddings (including solemnisations and blessings) can be conducted at our Jurong West building with a 10-person limit. Please contact our Wedding Department at wedding@chc.org.sg for more information.

Thank you for staying faithful and committed to this house of God. Your continual giving has enabled us to “find a need and meet it, find a hurt and heal it”. Through the CHC Care Fund, we've had the opportunity to provide financial support to 107 individuals so far, assisting them as they navigate through the economic challenges brought on by COVID-19. We hope to be able to help even more people in the days ahead.

Let us continue to “be joyful in hope, patient in tribulation, faithful in prayer” (Rom. 12:12, NIV), believing for God’s protection and provision to be upon our members, our families and our nation as we go through this COVID-19 situation together.

In Christ,
The Management of CHC
